The Amigos de la Ópera de A Coruña in Spain has announced a cast change for its Oct. 14, 2021 performance.

The company noted that Juan Jesús Rodriguez will sing the lyric gala replacing the originally announced Carlos Álvarez, who is ill.

Rodriguez is a well-known Spanish baritone who has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro de la Zarzuela, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro Real de Madrid, Oper Frankfurt, and Bilbao Opera.

The gala will showcase Rodriguez alongside María José Moreno, la Orquesta Gaos, and conductor Fernando Briones. The program will include Arias, romanzas, duets, and scenes from operas and Zarzuelas. Among the composers that will be performed are Charles Gounod, Giuseppe Verdi, Reveriano Soutullo, and Amadeo Vives.

The concert will be held at the Teatro Rosalía de A Coruña at 8 p.m.
