Juan Diego Flórez to Be Artistic Director of Rossini Opera Festival Until 2026

Juan Diego Flórez has extended his contract as Artistic Director of the Rossini Opera Festival.

Flórez will continue in the position until the end of 2026.

In a statement, the tenor said, “I thank the Superintendent Ernesto Palacio for having wanted to confirm me as artistic director of the ROF for the four-year period 2023-2026. I also thank President Vimini and the entire Board of the ROF. I am honored to occupy this prestigious position of the festival where I was born artistically and I will work in harmony with the Superintendent to maintain excellence in future programming.”

Flórez was announced as Artistic Director in 2021 and began his tenure in 2022. The tenor is set to open a new production of “Lucia di Lammermoor” at the Teatro alla Scala.
