Juan Diego Flórez, Roberto Alagna, Aleksandra Kurzak, Aida Garifullina, Sondra Radvanovsky Headline Vienna State Opera’s New Streaming Slate

The Vienna State Opera has announced that it will resume the streaming of opera performances via its online platform.

The company will kick it off with a production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” from Oct. 2, 2019 featuring Lawrence Zazzo, Erin Morley, Théo Touvet, Valentina Nafornita, Rafael Fingerlos, and Peter Rose, among others. Simone Young conducts.

Streaming Date: Nov. 4, 2020

Next up will be a performance of “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci” starring Eva-Maria Westbroek, Brian Jagde, Ambrosio Maestri, Roberto Alagna, and Aleksandra Kurzak. Marco Armiliato conducts the performance from Nov. 2, 2020.

Streaming Date: Nov. 5, 2020

 Next up will be an Oct. 31, 2020 performance of “Eugene Onegin” with Nicole Car, Andrè Schuen, Anna Goryachova, Bogdan Volkov, and Dimitry Ivaschchenko. Tomas Hanus conducts.

Streaming Date: Nov. 6, 2020

The Dec. 18, 2019 performance of “Orlando” will follow. That showcase starred Kate Lindsey, Anna Clementi, Eric Jurenas, and Constance Hauman, among others. Matthias Pintscher conducts.

Streaming Date: Nov. 7, 2020

A Feb. 1, 2017 performance of “Roméo Juliette” with Juan Diego Flórez and Aida Garifullina will be the Sunday showcase. Plácido Domingo conducts. 

Streaming Date: Nov. 8, 2020

The streaming slate for the week draws to a close with a Feb. 17, 2019 performance of “Tosca” with Sondra Radvanovsky, Piotr Beczala, Thomas Hampson, and Ryan Speedo Green headlining the cast. Armiliato conducts.
