José Carreras Extends Farewell Tour

José Carreras will end his singing his performing career in two years.

The tenor announced that he will extend his farewell tour for another two years and then call it quits. Carreras stated that once he has finished his tour, he will dedicate himself entirely to his Leukemia foundation as well as his family and friends. 

Carreras began his tour back in 2016 and expected to run it for one year. The tour has taken the famed tenor throughout the world including Russia, Hong Kong, the USA, Germany, Spain, Thailand, and Italy, among other countries.

Carreras was one of the famed “three tenors” who sang in some of the most renowned operas houses in the world including the Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, and Royal Opera House.
