Jonas Kaufmann Releases First Single to ‘The Sound of Movies’

Jonas Kaufmann has released the first single to his upcoming album “The Sound of Movies.”

The lead single is “Conquest of Paradise” from the 1992 film “1492: Conquest of Paradise” by Ridley Scott.

The song was originally recorded by Greek composer Vangelis and achieved success in many territories upon its release in 1992 including Flanders, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Kaufmann’s new album is dedicated to a century of movie songs and includes songs from such classics as “Breakfast at Tiffany’s,” “Gladiator,” “The Great Caruso,” “West Side Story,” “Cinema Paradiso,” “The Sound of Music,” “Scent of a Woman,” and “The Deer Hunter,” among others.

The album is set to be released on Sept. 15, 2023, through Sony Classical.
