Famed countertenor John Holiday has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts.

The 20-minute long program features Reynaldo Hah’s À Chloris,” Händel’s “Ombra Mai fù,” Abel Meerool’s “Strange Fruit,” James Johnson and J. Rosamond Johnson’s “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and the traditional song “I’m Going to Tell God All My Troubles.”

Per NPR’s official report, “Holiday dedicates ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing’ to young, Black voters, saying, ‘It’s really important that you let your voices be heard, even if you think nobody’s listening.'”

Holiday is joined by Jeanne-Minette Cilliers on the piano, though the countertenor himself takes to accompanying himself on a few selections.

The concert was produced by Tom Huizenga, with Joshua Bryant as the director and editor of the showcase.
