J’Nai Bridges, Susan Graham, Renée Fleming Headline Kennedy Center’s 2021-22 Fortas Chamber Music Concerts

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts has announced its 2021-22 Fortas Chamber Music Concerts.

For the purposes of this article, our focus will be solely on vocal performances.

Mezzo-soprano Susan Graham will join forces with Music from Copland House Ensemble for works by Jalbert, Harbison, and Danielpour.

Performance Date: Nov. 4, 2021 

Mezzo-soprano J’Nai Bridges will perform alongside the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra under conductor Tito Muñoz, and Exigence Vocal Ensemble under music director Eugene Rogers. Bridges will perform “Fix Me, Jesus” in a program that will also include music by Coleridge-Taylor, Coleman, Cordero, Thomson, and John Legend / Common.

Performance Date: Feb. 1, 2022 

Renée Fleming will perform alongside the Emerson String Quartet and pianist Simone Dinnerstein in a program featuring music by Barber, Walton, and Previn / Stoppard. Uma Thurman will narrate.

Performance Date: Feb. 28, 2022
