Jessica Pratt To Celebrate 100th Performance Of ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’

By Francisco Salazar

Jessica Pratt is set to sing her 100th performance of Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor.”

The soprano will return to her signature role in October in Bilbao in a new co-production by ABAO Bilbao Opera, the Bologna Teatro Comunale, the Genoa Teatro Carlo Felice, and the Slovak National Theatre.

Of her performance, Pratt said, “this will be my hundredth performance in this emblematic role, which has brought me so much joy. I will sing the opera in the original tonality and with a new cadenza, something I am really looking forward to, as I will continue to deepen my understanding of the musical complexities of the opera”

Pratt has performed “Lucia di Lammermoor” at such distinguished companies as the Metropolitan, the Théâtre des Champs Elysées in Paris, La Scala in Milan and Sydney Opera House, among many others. She will return to Spain in January for a production of “Lucia” at the Ópera de Oviedo.

Last summer, the soprano took home the best soprano award for her performances of “Lucia” at the Palau de les Arts.

“Lucia di Lammermoor” opens on Oct. 14 with Riccardo Frizza conducting the production and Ismael Jordi, Juan Jesús Rodriguez, and Marko Mimica also starring.
