
Jennifer Zetlan, Sarah Coit, Dane Suarez, & Jonathan Bryan Star in OperaDelaware’s 2026-27 Season

OperaDelaware announces its 2026-27 season.
Mainstage
Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” is presented in a co-production with Opera Baltimore. Jonathan Bryan performs the titular role of Don Giovanni with Katerina Burton as Donna Anna, Hayden Smith as Don Ottavio, Sarah Coit as Donna Elvira, Dylan Gregg as Leporello, Gerard Moon as Masetto, and Robin Steitz as Zerlina. Haley Stamats directs and Joshua Horsch conducts.
Performance Dates: Oct. 16 & 18, 2026
Gluck’s “Orfeo ed Euridice” is produced in partnership with First State Ballet Theatre. Emily Margevich sings the role of Eurydice and Jennifer Zetlan sings Amore. First State Ballet Theatre choreographer and dancer Zachary Kapeluck is the choreographer. Director Keturah Stickann makes her OperaDelaware debut and Anthony Barrese will conduct.

Chamber Series
“Don Giovanni Portraits” gives a preview of a new chamber orchestra reduction of Mozart’s score by Husan Chun-Novak and offers audiences an up-close encounter with the opera’s most pivotal characters.
Performance Dates: Oct. 8 & 10, 2026
In partnership with Opera Hispanica, OperaDelaware will present Zarzuela for the first time in its history. The concert features a chamber reduction of Federico Moreno Torroba’s “Luisa Fernanda.” Malena Dayen directs.
Performance Dates: Nov. 13 & 15, 2026
Up next is Menotti’s “Amahl and the Night Visitors” directed by Eric Einhorn.
Performance Dates: Dec. 5 & 6, 2026
Dane Suarez performs in the pairing of tenor monodramas, Janáček’s “The Diary of One Who Vanished” and Daron Hagen’s “Songs of Madness and Sorrow.” Katherine M. Carter directs “Written in Secret.”
Performance Dates: Jan. 22 & 24, 2027
Puccini’s first opera, “Le Villi” is presented.
Performance Dates: March 19 & 21, 2027
“Orpheus Retold” brings together Jake Heggie and Gene Scheer’s “To Hell and Back,” Jonathan Dove’s “L’altra Euridice,” and the premiere of “Eurydice” by Jodi Goble created specifically for Emily Margevich.
