Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award Winners Announced

From the Top, America’s largest national platform celebrating young classically trained musicians has announced the 2024 recipients of the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award.

The award was given to 21 pre-collegiate musicians out of 250 who applied. Each will receive up to $10,000 and the funds will be made available for instrument purchases, summer camp tuition, college audition expenses, private lessons, and other music-related needs.

Mezzo-soprano Rebecca Marchan is the only singer who received the award alongside pianist Pataranon “Benny” Boontagarnon, violist Daniel De La Cruz, Clarinetist Ian Dodd, violinist Anthony Dorsey,  pianist Rhyuhn Green, bassist Gavin Hardy, guitarist Laurel Harned, and cellist Abraham Kim.

Other recipients are violist Juhee Kim, trumpet player Ricardo Lazaro, cellist Sage Mae Lima-Jeffries, bassoonist Fabrizio Milcent, clarinetist Luis Diego Montero Hernández, violinist Jiyu Oh, harpist Eunice Park, percussionist Daniel Perez Ponce, flautist Joshua Rascón, violinist Gabriela Salvador Riera, cellist Benjamin Smith, and violinist Laura Wang.
