“Iván returns to his country after winning international awards, he’s career is growing everyday. He will perform arias from operas, zarzuela and also popular songs. He will sing accompanied by an orchestra under the baton of the Italian maestro Matteo Pagliari. The concert will be outdoors in the Huaca Pucllana,” said Miguel Molinari, cultural manager of the Miraflores district, in a statement to local media.

The Huaca Pucllana is a pre-Inca adobe pyramid located in the center of the Miraflores district, it also hosted some operas on previous occasions such as “Aida” or “Ollanta” by Peruvian composer José María Valle Riestra.

Pagliari, former director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru, conducted Ayón-Rivas back in 2013 during the Tutto Verdi gala at the Municipal Theater of Lima.

Ayón-Rivas is coming off a run of “Rigoletto” at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège.
