The International Resource Centre for Performing Arts has named ten singers that will perform as part of its “Ten Singing Stars: The Next Generation” on Nov. 5, 2018.

Per a press release, the 10 singers were selected from a pool of 25 total applicants. The singers include seven sopranos, one mezzo-soprano, and two tenors.

The sopranos include Tonia Cianciulli, Jocelyn Fralick, Beth Hagerman, Teiya Kasahara, Kathleen Promane, Sara Schabas, and Gwenna Fairchild-Taylor. Georgia Burashko is the lone mezzo and Zachary Rioux, and John-Michael Scapin are the tenors.

All of these artists will take part in IRCPA’s one-day “Encounter with soprano Adrianne Pieczonka, who previously worked with Metropolitan Opera Coach Joan Dornemann in her “Encounter.”

Pieczonka will offer up tips and career guidance to the singers. Per the release, “Each of the singers will have attended the Encounter on a scholarship in the name of an important Canadian musical artist past or present, donated by private individuals through the IRCPA’s third ‘Name a Scholarship’ campaign.”

IRCPA is a Toronto-based organization celebrating its 35th anniversary. The non-profit has helped around 700 singers, and 100 instrumentalists, among others.
