International Vocal Competition’s-Hertogenbosch Announces 2024 Finalists

The International Vocal Competition’s-Hertogenbosch has announced the eight finalists who will compete this Saturday.

The eight finalists include New Zealand soprano Madison Horman, U.K. mezzo-soprano Annabel Kennedy, Uzbekistanian bass-baritone Jasurbek Khaydarov, Ukrainian baritone Oleh Lebedyev, South Korean soprano Yoojin Lee, Dutch soprano Elisa Maayeshi, Portuguese mezzo-soprano Cláudia Ribas, and Mexican tenor Salvador Villanueva Zuzuarregui.

The organization also noted that South Korean soprano Elisabeth Eunsoo Lee has won the Marianne Blok Prize (€ 3,500); she will perform a coloratura aria in the final as a result. Maayeshi also won the IVC Friends Prize (€ 1,500) and Press Prize (€ 1,000), while Ribas took home the Junior Jury Prize (€ 1,000).

Per an official announcement, Horman and Maayeshi, who are nominees for the Van Amelsvoort Prize, will sing Bart Visman’s “Veronese’s Green” during the final. The Young Talent Prize nominees include Maayeshi, Lee, and Khaydarov. The Wagner Prize nominee is Ribas.
