The Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik has announced a cast change for its production of “Ifigenia in Tauride.”

The company said that Rafael Tomkiewicz will sing the role of Oreste, replacing Owen Willetts, who was originally announced.

The role will mark Tomkiewicz’s debut at the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik where he was in the Finals of the Antonio Cesti Competition. The countertenor has performed with the Theater an der Wien, Warsaw Philharmonic, Händel Festival, Royal Baroque Ensemble, Bach Consort Wien, and the Capela Regia Polona, among others.

The countertenor will join a cast that includes Rocío Pérez, Alasdair Kent, Suzanne Jerosme, and Karolina Bengtsson. Christophe Rousset conducts Nicola Raab’s production.

“Ifigenia in Tauride” will be performed on August 27 and 29, 2025.
