Independent Opera Company to Present ‘Daphne’
By David SalazarIndependent Opera Company will present “Daphne” on March 21 and 22 at the La Cañada Congregation Church.
The Strauss opera will be directed by Theresa Patten-Koeckert and conducted by Galina Barskaya. The cast includes Karine Karapetyan in the title role alongside Frank Watnik, Michael Paynee, Theresa Patten-Koeckert, Emesh Wijewardena, Matthew Cook, Jacob Walters, Alexei Helmbock, Bedjou Jean, Samantha Rosenberg, and Jessica Berns.
The chorus includes Lynn Wang, Laura Barrows, Janice Batzdorff, Bianca Galicia, Ivanna Vargas, and Niko Murakami.
Parts of the proceeds from the performance will go toward victims of the wildfires in Los Angeles.
