IDAGIO Appoints John Kieser to Director of Partnerships
By Chris RuelTill Janczukowicz, Founder and CEO of the leading streaming service for classical music, IDAGIO, announced the appointment of John Kieser as Director of Partnerships. Kieser was the Executive Vice President and Provost of the New World Symphony for the past five years and will continue to work with that organization as Executive Vice President of Media.
In his new role, Kieser will collaborate with the IDAGIO team to develop platforms that support arts institutions seeking alternative ways to connect with their current audiences and build new ones.
“We believe that streaming media is a cornerstone for any performing arts institution developing marketing strategies that address the audiences of tomorrow. John will be a key member of our senior team, and his professional accomplishments and innovative approaches to both challenges and opportunities in our field will benefit all who seek to serve and expand their audiences,” Janczukowicz said in a statement put out by the company.
For over 40 years, Kieser has worked in leadership roles with orchestras. While serving as the General Manager at the San Francisco Symphony, Kieser created SFS Media, which produced the multimedia project “Keeping Score,” several Grammy Award-winning recordings, and “The San Francisco Symphony at 100” and “Sweeney Todd,” both of which took home Emmy Awards.
“Media has long been a passion of mine, and IDAGIO is the perfect company with which to partner in the quest to bring the excellence of these institutions in compelling ways to existing and new audiences,” Kieser stated in the announcement.
IDAGIO’s service has over 2.3 million app downloads and subscribers in over 150 countries and is the only service offering audio streaming and exclusive online concerts at the same time. The company’s Global Concert Hall established in May 2020 enables artists to present their own concerts autonomously and to earn up to 80% of the ticket revenue. Artists who have appeared include Yo-Yo Ma, Emanuel Ax, Julia Bullock, Miloš Karadaglić, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Zubin Mehta, The King’s Singers, and the Vienna Philharmonic, among many other world-class performers and organizations.
