San Francisco Performances is set to feature tenor Ian Bostridge and pianist Wenwen Du in a performance of Schubert’s “Winterreise” on Oct. 21, 2023.

The showcase will kick off at 7:30 p.m. at the Herbst Theatre.

“It’s an honor to welcome back the extraordinary tenor Ian Bostridge, in a program that he has truly made his own. His inimitable style and artistry make his interpretation of Schubert’s ‘Winterreise’ unforgettable, setting a standard that is hard to match. This performance will surely be one to remember,” said Melanie Smith, San Francisco Performances President, in an official press statement issued by the company.

Bostridge has performed recitals all around the world at such festivals and stages as Salzburg, Edinburgh, Munich, Vienna, Aldeburgh, Schwarzenberg Schubertiade, Carnegie Hall, the Bayerische Staatsoper, La Monnaie, and Teatro alla Scala.

Du is a notable Canadian pianist who has given piano recitals alongside Bostridge in  Daegu, Shanghai, New York City, Atlanta, Vancouver BC. She has also performed alongside such singers as sopranos Judith Howarth, mezzo soprano Abigail Levis, baritones Johannes Kammler and Anton Belov, and bass-baritone Richard Zeller.
