Sir Thomas Allen Directs Mozart’s Masterpiece

OperaVision will showcase a performance of Mozart’s perennial masterpiece “The Marriage of Figaro,” live from the Royal College of Music on Jan. 1, 2019.

The new opera will feature Harry Thatcher, Josephine Goddard, Julieth Lozano, Adam Maxey, Lauren Joyanne Morris, Katy Thomson, Timothy Edlin, Joel Williams, Samuel Jenkins, Poppy Shotts, and Conall O’Neill.

The production will be conducted by Michael Rosewell with Sir Thomas Allen directing.

The stream kicks off at 5 p.m. local time. That’s around 11 a.m. EDT and 8:30 a.m. PST for the start time. It will be available for repeat viewings on Opera Vision until March 26, 2019.

The streaming service is free through OperaVision, which, per its official website, is a project “supported by the European Union’s Creative Europe program, OperaVision builds on the success of The Opera Platform, with more contributing opera companies from more countries, under the editorial supervision of Opera Europa, the European association of opera companies and festivals.
