The Orchestre Classique de Montréal will present Händel’s “Messiah” at Saint Joseph’s Oratory on Dec. 13, 2022.

Simon Rivard will conduct the performance with such soloists as soprano Hélène Brunet, contralto Rose Naggar-Tremblay, tenor Zachary Rioux, and baritone Phillip Addis. Also performing will be the Montréal choirs Filles de l’île and the Chantres musiciens.

The performance will be presented in memory of Gilbert Patenaude, the former Artistic Director of the Chantres Musiciens choir, who passed away on Nov. 13, 2022.

“It was with great sadness that we learned of the recent passing of Gilbert Patenaude, a friend and faithful colleague of the OCM,” said Taras Kulish, executive director of the OCM. “He was to be with us again this year at the helm of the Chantres musiciens. We will be paying tribute to him, where his son Julien will join us in leading the choir.”

The performance will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
