Helen Charlston Headlines Brighton Early Music Festival 2025

The 24th edition of the Brighton Early Music Festival announces its schedule.

Mademoiselle Duval’s “Les Génies ou les Caractères de l’Amour” is performed by sopranos Harriet Cameron and Laura Coppinger, tenor Richard Jackson, baritone Allyn Wu, and bass Henry Saywell. They are joined by the Baroque Collective Singers along with Ensemble Molière and the BREMF Players. John Hancorn conducts.

The Gesualdo Six present 16th-century polyphony focusing on the Virgin Mary, Regina Caelorum, Anne of Brittany, Margaret of Austria, Anne Boleyn, and Mary Tudor. Owain Park directs.

“Music Divine: Gibbons 400” commemorates 400 years since the death of Orlando Gibbons. The BREMF Consort of Voices and Cavillum Consort of Viols perform under the direction of James Elias.

The BREMF Community Choir, Singers from Fieri Consort, and pupils from Brighton Primary Schools perform Telemann’s “Water Music.” Ensemble Augelletti and the Lowe Ensemble accompany.

Mezzo-soprano and SongPath co-founder Joanna Harries presents “SongPath Walk.” Soprano Angela Hicks and violinist Adrian Butterfield join the tour in Stanmer Park.
