Multidisciplinary artist and co-creator of “Aportia Chryptych: A Black Opera for Portia White,” HAUI™ has been named one of the 2026–27 Residency Artists for the Britten Pears Arts program.
HAUI™ will develop new work alongside director Peter Hinton-Davis O.C. at the historic Snape Maltings and The Red House. The duo joins a select cohort of international creators chosen for a season rooted in “deep listening, embodied practice, and the exploration of liminal states.” Their residency will focus on how memory is carried through place and voice, utilizing technology to reveal the imperceptible aspects of history and myth.
The residency will culminate in an Open Session. This informal, welcoming sharing invites audiences into the creative process, offering a rare opportunity to encounter HAUI™ and Hinton-Davis’s work as it is being shaped.
Previous Britten Pears Arts Residency Artists include Cassie Kinoshi, and CN Lester, among others.
