Harmonium Choral Society to Present ‘Longing’

Harmonium Choral Society will present “Longing” on May 9 and 10, 2026 at Grace Church in Madison, New Jersey.

The concert opens with Canadian composer Don MacDonald’s “Tabula Rasa,” performed in surround sound, and includes works by Vittoria Aleotti, Amanda Quist, Cynthia Shaw, and Rob Dietz. The program also features New Jersey premieres by Texas composer Evan Blaché and indigenous composer Danielle Olana Jagelski, among many others.

“The Chamber Singers are absolutely fabulous singers and make a wonderful ensemble. Grace Church in Madison is perfect for this select group of dedicated performers. Our eclectic mix of works will delight you– we promise something for everyone from choral aficionados to your mom,” Artistic Director Dr. Anne Matlack said per an official press release.

Matlack has led the organization since 1987 and under her direction, the 100-voice society has commissioned more than 30 works by contemporary composers.

The May 9 showcase commences at 7:30 p.m. while the May 10 show has a start time of 3 p.m. local time.
