Guerilla Opera is set to present Deniz Khateri’s “SALT” on August 17-20, 2022.

The experimental opera is a monologue for soprano and electronics and is being presented as part of the Ice Factory Festival at the New Ohio Theatre in New York City.

Aliana de la Guardia headlines the opera, which will be directed by Khateri with music and sound design by Bahar Royaee. Per an official release from the festival, the work focuses on an elder woman as she cooks soup for her husband and narrates on her marriage and how she plans to get out of it.

De la Guardia has performed with such companies as the Enigma Chamber Orchestra, Beth Morrison Projects, Capella Clausura, Monadnock Music, Dinosaur Annex, Mountain Time Arts, Equilibrium, and the Boston New Music Fest, among many others.
