In order to maintain culture alive, the Gran Teatre del Liceu will stream its recent production of “Don Giovanni” and “Sis Solos Soles.”

The company announced that it will stream the first performance of Mozart’s masterpiece on Nov. 8,2020 via YouTube, making it available for an entire week. The opera starred Christopher Maltman in the title role alongside Miah Persson as Donna Anna, Ben Bliss as Don Ottavio, Véronique Gens as Donna Elvira, and Luca Pisaroni as Leporello, among others.

The company also announced that on Nov. 14, it will showcase a recording of “Sis Solos Soles,” the new show co-produced with Òpera de Butxaca which was due to premiere this weekend and which will be recorded behind closed doors.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu was forced to close due to new restrictions imposed in Catalonia. The region has seen a surge in COVID-19 cases and imposed new lockdown restrictions for the entire month of November in order to stop the spread of the virus.
