The Gran Teatre del Liceu has canceled its Oct. 18, 2019 performance of Puccini’s “Turandot.”
The company announced that due to force majeure the performance scheduled for Oct. 18 would no longer take place and was rescheduled for Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.
It also announced that those that were unable to attend could contact the Liceu to replace or change their tickets.
The cancelation is due to the strike in Cataluña which also caused other institutions like the Palau de la Musica to cancel its opening night concert.
The performance was originally set to star Iréne Theorin, Jorge de León, Ermonela Jaho, and Alexander Vinogradov. Josep Pons conducts the performance.
Performances scheduled for Oct. 19 and Oct. 20 are still set as scheduled.
