Gran Teatre del Liceu Cancels ‘Liceu a la Fresa’

By Francisco Salazar

The Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona has canceled its upcoming “Liceu a la fresca.”

The company canceled the event scheduled for July due to the instability of the ongoing pandemic. Specifically, the company announced that it would be hard to organize an event that includes a variety of organizations such as agents, companies, television, and public administrations. Since the event began in 2015, more than 300 municipalities have participated and at least six months of preparation have been necessary to plan it accordingly.

Additionally, the pandemic has also prevented the Liceu from knowing the restrictions of the time and what capacity will be allowed.

The Gran Teatre del Liceu is currently in preparations to present Jonathan Dove’s “El Monstre al Laberint” and is also set to present Sondra Radvanovsky‘s “The Three Queens” in May.
