The Gran Teatre del Liceu has announced a cast change for its March 21 performance of “Lohengrin.”

The company said that soprano Okka von der Damerau will take on the role of Ortrud replacing Iréne Theorin, who is still suffering from an infection in one of her vocal cords.

Von der Damerau performed on March 19, also replacing Theorin.

The soprano performs at many of the prestigious theaters in the world including Bayerische Staatsoper, Berlin State Opera, Wiener Staatsoper, Semperoper de Dresden, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Teatro alla Scala, Teatro San Carlo, and Teatro Real de Madrid.

Von der Damerau is set to join a cast that includes Günther Groissböck, Klaus Florian Vogt, Elisabeth Teige, Olafur Sigurdarson, and Roman Trekel. Josep Pons conducts the new production by Katharina Wagner.
