The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra announces its 2026-27 season. Here’s a look at the voice events.

Mezzo-soprano Rebecka Wallroth performs with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Ludovic Morlot.

Soprano Mia Strand and Göteborgs Symfoniska Kör perform at the “National Day” concert with the

Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Tobias Ringborg conducts.

Performance Date: June 6, 2026

The Side by Side Festival features the Göteborgs Symfoniska Kör. Conductors include Ron Davis Alvarez, Emilia Hoving, Marjolein Vermeeren, Birgitta Mannerström-Molin, Ida Rosén Hamrå, and Magnus Marchinkowski Pettersson.

Barbara Hannigan presents Ligeti’s “Mysteries of the Macabre.”

Performance Dates: November 4 & 5, 2026

Barbara Hannigan returns to present “In the footsteps of Schoenberg” as soloist and conductor.

Performance Date: November 8, 2026

Soprano Christina Nilsson and baritone Christoph Pohl solo in Brahms’ “A German Requiem.” They are joined by the Gothenburg Symphony Choir and the orchestra. Marie Jacquot conducts.

Performance Dates: December 17 & 18, 2026

The men’s choir Orphei Drängar performs Sibelius’ “Kullervo.” Soloists are to be announced. Santtu-Matias Rouvali conducts the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.

Performance Date: January 9, 2027

Barbara Hannigan performs and conducts Poulenc’s “La Voix humaine.”

Performance Date: March 4, 2027

Barbara Hannigan conducts the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and choir in Mendelssohn’s “Meeresstille und glückliche Fahrt” and Fauré’s “Requiem.” Soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir and baritone Arvid Eriksson are soloists.

Soprano Camilla Tilling performs “Chaplin Songs” with the Göteborgs Symfoniska Kör. Andrew Manze conducts the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
