
Golda Zahra Honored by Mayor of Beverly Hills
By David SalazarSharona R. Nazarian, the Mayor of Beverly Hills, has awarded soprano Golda Zahra with a certificate of recognition for her musical gifts and community spirit.
The award was presented at a community concert on May 24 at the Canon Gardens, which launched the summer concert series throughout Los Angeles. Zahra is also set to appear at the BroadStage on July 2 as part of the series.
“I am truly filled with pride and gratitude to receive this honor from Mayor Nazarian. I was born and raised in Beverly Hills and truly love my community and feel so grateful for the warm welcome back after my departure to Italy where I perfected my craft. It’s great to be home,” Zahra stated.
The concert on May 24 featured a wide-ranging program including such songs and arias as “Quando m’en vo’,” “Mattinata,” “Somewhere over the Rainbow,” “Memory,” “I could have danced all night,” and “O mio babbino caro.”
