Golda Schultz & Ben Bliss Lead Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Die Zauberflöte’ Revival

The Metropolitan Opera is set to revive Simon McBurney’s German-language production of Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte.”

The production, which premiered in 2023 to wide acclaim will return for 11 performances starting March 23 and running through April 26, 2025. When it opened OperaWire said, “This is the Best Met Opera Production in Ages.”

The production will star Golda Schultz as Pamina, opposite tenor Ben Bliss as Tamino.

Soprano Kathryn Lewek returns as the reigning Queen of the Night, with opening night marking her 75th Met performance in the role. Baritone Thomas Oliemans returns as Papageno, while Thomas Ebenstein and Shenyang sing Monostatos and the Speaker. Maestro Evan Rogister conducts.

The March 28 and April 12 and 23 performances of “Die Zauberflöte” will be broadcast live on Metropolitan Opera Radio on the SiriusXM app.
