Glimmerglass Announces New Director of Development
By David SalazarLydnsay Werking-Yip will be the new Director of Development at Glimmerglass.
Werking-Yip is an alumna of the organization as an Apprentice who has gone on to a career in arts administration, strategic development, and storytelling. She worked as Director of Development & Communications at the American Composers Orchestra, where she helped the organization to a $1 million increase in the annual budget, a 73 percent jump in assets, and a 40 percent increase in contributed income. She has also held leadership roles with OPERA America and American Lyric Theater.
“The Glimmerglass Festival played an essential role in launching my career,” said Werking-Yip in an official press release. “As a newly minted college graduate, I spent the summer of 2009 at Glimmerglass as the Dramaturgy & Projected Titles Apprentice. By the summer’s end, I was set to move to New York City, and, through my Glimmerglass network, eventually secured my first job at OPERA America. Since then, the Festival, its campus, and the many people I’ve met there have held a special place in my heart. Returning now, when the company celebrates five decades of music, theater, and mentorship, is a meaningful full-circle moment. I’m deeply inspired by the Glimmerglass community and thrilled to help shape the company’s next chapter in partnership with Rob Ainsley and the Festival team, our Board of Trustees, and our generous community of supporters.”
In her new role, Werking-Yip will oversee Glimmerglass’ development program, which includes individual giving, government and foundation support, corporate partnerships, donor stewardship, and campaign planning.
