Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida Receives BBX Capital Foundation Arts & Culture Grant

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida (GMCSF) has received the BBX Capital Foundation Arts & Culture grant.

The GMCSF was acknowledged for its “significant commitment to fostering inclusivity, diversity, and culture in South Florida.” The ensemble was awarded $13,000 from the BBX Capital Foundation, which supports the arts, education, and celebrates community engagement. This year, the foundation awarded $201,000 to twenty nonprofits that did not receive state funds.

Jarett Levan, President and CEO of BBX Capital and Trustee of the BBX Capital Foundation, stated in a press release, “The BBX Capital Foundation supports these organizations and initiatives because they align with the Foundation’s commitment to promoting arts, education, and cultural experiences. We believe they are essential to the growth, economic vitality, and development of our Broward County community.”

The funds will directly support the mission of the GMCSF which is “to inspire and unite through music”. This support is ensures the continuation of performances that elevate voices and stories of those within the LGBTQ+ community.

The Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida presents its next performance, “The Chic and Unique” on Nov. 2.
