Gaston Rivero, Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Angela Meade & Rame Lahaij Lead Teatro Regio di Torino’s 2023 Season

The Teatro Regio di Torino has announced its 2023 season featuring seven productions.

Diego Fasolis conducts Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” with Santiago Ballerini, Nico Darmanin, Leonardo Galeazzi, Riccardo Novaro, José Maria Lo Monaco, Mara Gaudenzi, John Chest, Rodion Pogossov, and Guido Loconsolo. Pierre-Emmanuel Rousseau directs.

Performance Dates: Jan. 24-Feb. 5, 2023

Verdi’s “Aida” is set to star Erika Grimaldi, Angela Meade, Anastasia Boldyreva, Silvia Beltrami, Gaston Rivero, Stefano La Colla, Gevorg Hakobyan, Evgeny Stavinsky, and Marko Mimica.

Performance Dates: Feb. 25-March 8, 2023

Irina Bogdanova, Amélie Hois, and Thomas Ciluffo star in Thomas Ades’ “Powder Her Face” with Paolo Vettori directing.

Performance Dates: March 10-18, 2023

Shira Patchornik, Ekaterina Bakanova, Giovanni Sala, Joel Prieto, Gurgen Baveyan, Alessio Arduini, Beate Ritter, Tamara Ivanis, and In-Sung Sim lead Mozart’s “The Magic Flute.” Sesto Quatrini conducts the production by Barrie Kosky and Suzanne Andrade.

Performance Dates: March 31-April 14, 2023

Rimsky-Korsakov’s “The Tsar’s Bride” is set to star Nadine Koutcher, Alexander Roslavets, Elchin Azizov, and Sergey Radchenko.

Valentin Uryupin conducts. 

Performance Dates: April 26-28, 2023 

Caterina Sala and Giuliana Gianfaldoni lead Donizetti’s “La Fille du Régiment” with Manuela Custer, Pablo Martínez, John Osborn, and Roberto de Candia. Evelino Pidò conducts the production by Barbe & Doucet.

Performance Dates: May 13-23, 2023

Valeria Sepe and Lianna Haroutounian lead Puccini’s “Madama Butterfly” with Rame Lahaij, Matteo Lippi, Damiano Salerno, and Ksenia Chubunova. Dmitri Jurowski conducts the production by Damiano Michieletto.

Performance Dates: June 13-27, 2023
