Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles Honored with Spain’s Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes
By David SalazarThe Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles is the recipient of the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes.
The award was given on Nov. 27, 2024, at the Real Fábrica de Artillería in the presence of the monarchs of Spain. It was bestowed on the organization by the Ministry of Culture and was given to a total of 37 organizations and artists from the cultural world. Helena Mora, the president of the Fundación Victoria de los Ángeles received the medal alongside Marc Busquests, the artistic director of the organization.
The award was given to honor the organization’s work in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Victoria de los Ángeles’ birth. The famed soprano received that very medal back in 1991.
“It is a great honor for us to receive this medal of recognition for the acts organized by the Fundación for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Victoria de los Ángeles and represents the perfect ending for a year full of events celebrating her,” said Mora in an official press release.
The organization has also received a medal from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation and the Premio Ópera Actual 2024 this year.
