Francesca Sassu, Jessica Pratt, Roman Burdenko & Clay Hilley Lead Teatro Verdi di Trieste’s 2024-25 Season

The Teatro Trieste di Verdi has announced its 2024-25 season.

Opera

The season opens with Verdi’s La Traviata featuring Maria Grazia Schiavo, Francesca Sassu, Antonio Poli, Klodjan Kaçani, Roberto Frontali, and Federico Longhi. Arnaud Bernard directs and Enrico Calesso conducts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 8-Dec. 19, 2024

Mozart’s “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” is set to be conducted by Beatrice Venezi and directed by Ivan Stefanutti. The cast will include Ruzil Gatin, Anna Aglatova, Andrea Silvestrelli, Maria Sardaryan, and Francesco Marsiglia.

Performance Dates: Jan. 17-26, 2025

Francesc Ivan Ciampa conducts Puccini’s Il Trittico with a new production by Pier Francesco Maetrini. “Il Tabarro” will star Roman Burdenko, Olga Maslova, and Mikheil Sheshaberidze while “Suor Angelica” will be headlined by Anastasia Bartoli and Giovanna Lanza. The final work “Gianni Schicchi” will feature the vocal talents of Burdenko, Riccardo Rados, and Sara Cortolezzis.

Performance Dates: Feb. 21-March 2, 2025

Wagner’s “Der fliegende Holländer” is set to be conducted by Enrico Calesso and will showcase James Rutherford, Clay Hilley, Elena Batoukova-Kerl, and Albert Dohmen. Henning Flores directs.

Performance Dates: March 21-30, 2025

Jessica Pratt takes on the title role in Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor” alongside Stefan Pop, Maxim Lisiin, and Carlo Lepore. Daniel Oren conducts the production by Bruno Berger-Gorski.

Performance Dates: April 17-27, 2025

Amartüvshin Enkhbatyn sings the lead in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” with Enkeleda Kamani, Galeano Salas, Martina Belli, and Carlo Striuli. Daniel Pren conducts.

Performance Dates: May 16-31, 2025

The season concludes with Bernstein’s “Candide” with Kevin Rhodes conducting and Renato Zanella directing.

Performance Dates: June 13-22, 2025

Concerts 

Tommaso Turchetta conducts music by Sandra Fuga, Luigi Dalapiccola, and Stravinsky with soloists Marie-Pierre Roy, and Giacomo Fuga.

Performance Date: Oct. 11, 2024

Riccaro Massi and Markus Werba lead Puccini’s “Messa a  quattro voci con orchestra.” Jordi Bernàcer conducts.

Performance Date: Dec. 22, 2024
