Fort Worth Opera’s biennial Marguerite McCammon Voice Competition is set to return on March 23, 2025.

The showcase will feature 10 rising opera stars performing at the Kimbell Art Museum with $15,000 in cash prizes on the line. Contestants will have to prepare a list of four arias and get to choose the first selection. But in the second half, they will have to perform an aria at the jury’s behest.

This year’s jury includes Fort Worth Opera’s Fort Worth Opera General & Artistic Director Angela Turner Wilson as well as Chandler Johnson of Santa Fe Opera, Vanessa Uzan of UIA Talent Agency, and Miguel Harth-Bedoya of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

There will be a first, second, and third prize as well as an Audience Favorite Award chosen by ticket holders in attendance.

“Every other year since 1985, the McCammon Voice Competition brings Final Four intensity, American Idol vitality, and Oscar Red Carpet style right here to our city,” said Turner Wilson, in an official press release. “It’s high-stakes, high-drama, and high artistry — all in one thrilling afternoon.”

Following the competition, audiences will get a chance to meet with the finalists.
