
Florida Grand Opera Announce ‘Lovesongs: A Musical Romance’
By David SalazarFlorida Grand Opera has announced the second weekend of concerts as part of its “SongFest” series with “Lovesongs: A Musical Romance.”
The free concerts, set for Feb. 13, 2026, in Miami and Feb. 15, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale, will feature FGO Studio Artists Catherin Meza, Ingrid Kuribayashi, James Mancuso, Levi Adkins, Alex Granito, Joseph O’Shea, and William Dopp, alongside CANTO Artists Haojin Mo, Sylvia Etherington, Emily Auten Cross, Jade Espina, Zhedong Ren, and Chris Melton.
The program centers on music inspired by love and includes selections ranging from Brahms’ “Liebeslieder Waltzes” to art songs spanning multiple eras. The Feb. 13 concert kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and the Feb. 15 one has a 3 p.m. start time.
SongFest is presented by Florida Grand Opera’s Studio Artist and CANTO programs and offers themed concerts to audiences across Miami-Dade and Broward counties. FGO Studio Artists participate in up to two years of training and performance in South Florida under the leadership of Dr. Jared Peroune, Samuel M. Townsend Studio Artist Program Manager and Chorus Master, with faculty including Arturo Chacón-Cruz and Louis Otey. The CANTO program is a training initiative developed in partnership with local college music programs.
