Festival Vicenza in Lirica Announces its 2021 Season

The Festival Vicenza in Lirica in Italy has announced its 2021 season.

The Young Artist’s Future concert will feature students from Laura Polverelli’s masterclass.

Performance Date: August 27, 2021

Mozart’s Oratroio “Betulia Liberata” will feature Nile Senatore (Ozia), Alessandra Visentin (Giuditta), Paola Leoci (Amital), Patrizio La Placa (Achior), Caterina Meldolesi (Cabri), and Véronique Valdès (Cami). The Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto will be conducted by Marco Comin.

Performance Date: August 27 & 28, 2021

The Recital benefico will feature Laura Polverelli, Alberto Mastromarino, Natale De Carolis (basso-baritono), Emma Alessi Innocenti, Francesca Lione, and Maddalena De Biasi. Nerina Peroni accompanies on piano.

Performance Date: August 29, 2021

There will be a reading of “V e W – Perché non possiamo fare a meno di Giuseppe Verdi e Richard Wagner” by Fabio Larovere e Andrea Fani.

Reading Date: August 30, 2021

The Young Artist’s Future will feature students of Renata Scotto’s masterclass.

Performance Date: August 31, 2021

The baroque concert will feature music by Antonio Caldara and Nicola Porpora.

Performance Date: Sept. 2, 2021

Leo Nucci performs a program of sacred music with Elisa Maffi, Marco Righi (cello), and Paolo Marcarini (organ).

Performance Date: Sept. 3, 2021

Marta Mari and Mosè Edmondo Savio perform songs by Licinio Refice.

Performance Date: Sept. 4, 2021

Antonio Vivaldi’s Le Quattro Stagioni will be performed by the Orchestra sinfonica del Conservatorio di Milano and Pietro Mianiti.

Performance Date: Sept. 5, 2021

The book “Il basso rossiniano” by Giorgio Appolonia will be presented.

Reading Date: Sept. 6, 2021

Scarlatti’s Stabat Mater will be performed by Costanza Cutaia, Antonia Salzano, Ensemble barocco del festival Vicenza in Lirica, and Carlo Steno Rossi.

Performance Date: Sept. 7, 2021

“Le Grazie vendicate” will be performed by the Ensemble barocco del festival Vicenza in Lirica and Carlo Steno Rossi. Soloists will be announced at a later date.

Performance Date: Sept. 8, 2021

Manuela Custer, Ensemble Quartetto Dafne, and Raffaele Cortese dedicate a concert to Dante Alighieri with music by Francesco Morlacchi, Luigi Confidati, Gioacchino Rossini, Franz Listz, and Amilcare Ponchielli.

Performance Date: Sept. 8, 2021

There will be a reading of the book “Pazzo per l’opera – istruzioni per l’abuso del Melodramma” and “Va pensiero.”

Reading Date: Sept. 12, 2021

The festival will present Mozart’s “Mitridate, Re di Ponto” with the winners of the Tullio Serafin Competition with Luca Oberti conducting and Natale De Carolis directing.

Performance Dates: Sept. 7-12, 2021
