The XXII Festival Ópera al Parque el Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo is set to present Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas.”

The opera is part of the “proyecto del Taller de ópera Uniandes” that was selected from a number of operatic projects and will feature a production by Pedro Salazar which was previously shown at the Universidad de Los Andes and the Teatro Colón de Bogotá this past summer.

This time, the production will be shown at the Teatro Mayor under the musical direction of Rondy Torres with a cast that includes Mónica Danilov in her acclaimed interpretation, Andrés Silva, Carolina Plata, Mónica López, Claudia Grenier, Mónica López, Valeria Bibliowicz, Luis Mora, and Emilio Anzola.

The performance is set for Oct. 13, 2019 and will feature the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá.
