Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra Announces 2023 Season

The Festival Internazionale di Muscia e Arte Sacra has announced its 2023 season.

The opening performance will be held at the Basilica Papale di San Pietro in Vaticano with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Giulio Caccini. The performance will include Sekai, the Orchestra di Roma e IlluminArt Chorus (Giappone), and conductor Tomomi Nishimoto.

Performance Date: Nov. 4, 2023

The second performance will include music by Wolfgang Joseph Emmerig, Domenico Bartolucci, Moritz Brosig, Domenico Bartolucci, and Lorenzo Perosi. The concert will include the Coro del Vicariato Vaticano – Basilica di San Pietro, Gianluca Libertucci, and conductor Temistocle Capone.

Lorenzo Perosi’s Missa Redemptionis will be performed by Ensemble Guillou Consort, Juan Paradell Solé, and Mons. Valentino Miserachs Grau.

Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 will be performed by Rossana Cardia, Chiara Chialli, Delfo Paone, and Ferruccio Finetti. The Orchestra di Roma e IlluminArt Chorus (Giappone) will be conducted by Tomomi Nishimoto.

Performance Date: Nov. 5, 2023

Mozart’s Requiem and “Ave Verum Corpus” will star Pia-Marie Nilsson, Debora Beronesi, Rodrigo Ortiz, and Andrea D’Amelio. The Venerabile Cappella Musicale Liberiana and Coro e Orchestra della Cappella Ludovicea will be conducted by Ildebrando Mura.

Performance Date: Nov. 6, 2023

The season comes to a close at the Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio with music by Giacomo Carissimi. The include soloists Margherita Chiminelli, Maria Chiara Chizzoni, Jennifer Schittino, Andrés Montilla Acurero, Riccardo Pisani, Mauro Borgioni, and Walter Testolin.
