Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra Announces 2021 Season

The Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra in Rome, Italy has announced its 2021 season.

The festival opens at the Basilica di San Pietro with compositions from Romano Musumarra and soloist Maria Carfora. That evening, Mozart’s Requiem will be conducted by Ildebrando Mura with soloists Natalia Pavlova (soprano), Debora Beronesi (mezzo-soprano), Alessandro Luciano (tenor), and Mauro Utzeri (baritone).

Performance Dates: Nov. 13, 2021

Two concerts will be held on the second day of the festival. The festival will dedicate one concert to Dante at the Church of Sant’Ignazio di Loyola. The second concert will be held at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and will see Monteverdi’s “Il Vespro della Beata Vergine.”

Performance Dates: Nov. 14, 2021

The third day of the festival will showcase a concert at the Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola in Campo Marzio with organist Leo Krämer. The concert will include Händel, Bach, and Mendelssohn.

Performance Date: Nov. 15, 2021

The final day of the festival will showcase a concert at the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano that will showcase sacred music by Mozart, Verdi, Dvořak, and Itzhak Tavior.
