Cosme Marina has been named the new director of the Festival Internacional de Santander.

The new director was proposed by the president and vice president of the Patronato. Marina will succeed Valentina Granados, who is retiring.

Marina previously worked as Artistic Director of the Fundación Musical Ciudad de Oviedo and has been the director of the Festival de Teatro Lírico Español.

The festival recently celebrated its 72th anniversary and featured such artists as Juan Diego Florez, Hilary Hahn, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Javier Perianes, Juanjo Mena, and Midori, among others.
