Festival d’Aix-en-Provence Appoints New Deputy General Director
By Francisco SalazarPierre Audi, General Director of the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, has appointed Olivier Leymarie as Deputy General Director of the Festival.
The news was announced after the deliberation of a jury chaired by Paul Hermelin, Chairman of the Festival’s Board of Directors, and including state and local authority representatives, as well as several qualified members of the Board.
Leymarie will take up his new position on Jan. 29, 2025.
Leymarie is currently Managing Director of the Ensemble intercontemporain which was founded in 1976 by Pierre Boulez and which is dedicated to contemporary classical music from the 20th century to the present day.
He has been the General Administrator of Erda (2013-2017), a structure encompassing Accentus and Insula orchestra and was the Executive Artistic Director and Production Director of the Opéra de Dijon (2008-2013). He also served as the Assistant Production Director of the Cité
de la musique-Philharmonie de Paris (2003-2008).
