Ferruccio Furlanetto, Stacey Alleaume, Diego Torre, Elena Gabouri to Headline Handa Opera at Millthorpe’s 2026 Season

Australia’s Handa Opera at Millthorpe has unveiled its 2026 slate.

The season opens with a recital starring Italian bass Ferruccio Furlanetto, alongside by pianist Natalia Sidorenko.

Per an official press release, Artistic Director and CEO Lyndon Terracini said, “Ferruccio is one of the greatest voices of his generation and Elena is a force to be reckoned with. They’ve both sung all the major roles in the world’s great opera houses, and it will be a thrill to experience them in such an intimate setting.”

Performance Date: April 2, 2026


The comes a Gala Concert featuring mezzo-soprano Elena Gabouri, sopranos Stacey Alleaume and Natalie Aroyan, tenor Diego Torre, and baritone Andrew Williams, joined by the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra under Maestro Paul Terracini.

Performance Date: April 3, 2026


Soprano Noëmi Nadelmann will lead “Berlin to Broadway” alongside Swiss pianist André Desponds.

Performance Date: April 4, 2026


Closing out the festival is a concert performance of Verdi’s “Un ballo in maschera,” featuring Elena Gabouri, Stacey Alleaume, Natalie Aroyan, Diego Torre, Andrew Williams, Gennadi Dubinski, and Richard Anderson. Terracini conducts the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra.
