Cape Town Opera releases details on its 2027 season.

The Cape Town Opera’s Vocal Ensemble presents a medley of opera favorites, musical theatre pieces, and African spirituals in “Opera in Your Neighbourhood.”

Performance Dates: Feb. 11 -13 & March 10, 2027

The Duet Endowment Trust Gala features Cape Town Opera’s House Soloists, Judith Neilson Young Artists, the Vocal Ensemble and Children’s Chorus with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. Guest artists are yet to be announced.

Performance Date: Feb. 20, 2027

“Vienna in the Park” showcases Cape Town Opera’s Soloists, Judith Neilson Young Artists and Vocal Ensemble as well as the CTO Children’s Chorus, performing selections from “Die Fledermaus” and “The Merry Widow.”

Performance Dates: March 7 & 14, 2027

Cape Town Opera’s Judith Neilson Young Artists and members of the Vocal Ensemble present “Opera Blocks in Your Library” for babies and toddlers.

Performance Dates: March 16 – 20, 2027

The “Beethoven Celebration” is performed by House Soloists, the Vocal Ensemble and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. Bernard Gueller conducts.

Performance Date: March 27, 2027

Kamal Khan conducts Verdi’s “Rigoletto.” Magdalene Minnaar directs. The cast is yet to be announced.

Performance Dates: May 19 -29, 2027

Up next is Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music.” Cast details are yet to be announced.

Performance Dates: July 16 – Aug. 1, 2027

Cape Town Opera presents Gershwin’s “Porgy and Bess” at the The Grange Festival in Hampshire.

Performance Dates: July, 2027

Verdi’s “Rigoletto” returns to stage, this time in a small scale for the “Opera for All initiative.” The opera is presented with a piano accompaniment.

Performance Dates: Aug. 24 – 29, 2027

Jan Hugo conducts Mozart’s “Così fan tutti.” Greg Aldridge directs.

Performance Dates: Oct. 19 -31, 2027

The season closes with “O Holy Night” presented by House Soloists, Judith Neilson Young Artists, Vocal Ensemble, Children’s Chorus, Foundation Studio, and St George’s Cathedral Choir, with the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra.

Performance Dates: Dec. 8 -10, 2027
