Fairfield County Chorale to Present Re-imagined ‘Gloria’

By Logan Martell

On April 11, 2021, Fairfield County Chorale will welcome spring with an innovative performance of Vivaldi’s “Gloria.”

This re-imagining of the chorale masterpiece will incorporate new orchestrations for instruments such as the mandolin, bandoneon, and electric guitar. The film will blend elements of music and dance to create a tapestry of sound meant as a celebration of the promise of tomorrow.

FCC Music Director and Conductor David Rosenmeyer will lead the 100+ voices of the chorale. They will be joined by soloist mezzos Malena Dayen and Eugenia Forteza, and soprano Joy Jan Jones. Choreography will be done by Troy Ogilvie, with video design by Rodrigo Aranjuelo.

The performance follows in the success of last December’s “FCC Presents, Gifts,” concert, where the Connecticut-based company reached three thousand viewers across 5 continents. “Gloria” will be available to watch for free, though registration is required through Eventbrite.
