Eva Parr Headlines New Camerata Opera’s ‘The Music of Earl Kelly’

Mezzo-soprano Eva Parr performs in New Camerata Opera’s concert “The Music of Earl Kelly.”

Parr along with violist Sarah Adams, and pianist Andrew Parr will present a concert of works by American composer Earl Kelly (1916-1981). Kelly composed over 50 songs and works for piano, many during his tour of service in North Africa and Italy during World War II. Additional music on the concert includes works by Johannes Brahms and Richard Strauss, and songs by Kelly’s teacher Nadia Boulanger  and her sister Lili Boulanger.

“The Music of Earl Kelly” is scheduled for July 21 at 3 p.m. in Scorca Hall at The National Opera Center in NYC

Following this concert is New Camerata Opera’s 2024 Annual Gala. The gala features performances by the company’s artistic committee members, as well as a preview of the Nov. 2024 production of “La Tragédie de Carmen.” The gala is held on Oct. 9 in NYC.
