Eurasia Festival To Celebrate Tchaikovsky with Virtual Summer Opera Institute

Celebrating the 180th anniversary of Tchaikovsky’s birth, the Eurasia Festival will be launching its Summer Opera Institute. This Zoom-based workshop series will allow singers from around to world to study roles from some of the famous Russian composer’s operas through group diction classes, individual coaching sessions, and more.

Interested artists are asked to submit a form of interest in lieu of an audition, and students have the option to study their role in-person with pianist and coach Aza Sydykov at the Eurasia Cultural Center in New York City; this offer is good until May of 2021 depending on health and travel regulations.

Session 1: “Eugene Onegin”

Roles: Tatyana, Onegin, Lensky, and Olga.

Session Dates: June 3-28, 2020.

Session 2: “Iolanta”

Roles: Iolanta, Rene, Robert, Count Vaudemont, and Ibn-Hakia.

Session Dates: July 1-26, 2020.

Session 3: “Pique Dame”

Roles: Herman, Liza, Polina, Count Tomsky, and Prince Yeletsky.

Session Dates: August 5-30, 2020.
