Ermonela Jaho & Saimir Pirgu Lead Teatro Colón’s ‘La Traviata’ Stream

The Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires has announced its upcoming stream of Verdi’s “La Traviata” on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

The famed Verdi work will be streamed on the company’s website and stars Ermonela Jaho, Saimir Pirgu, and Fabian Veloz. The performance, which comes from 2107, is conducted by Evelino Pidò in a production by Franco Zeffirelli from the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma.

Jaho is well known for her interpretation of Violetta, having performed the work at the Royal Opera, Bayerische Staatsoper, Berlin State Opera, and Opera Australia.

Pirgu has performed the famed work at the Metropolitan Opera, Weiner Staatsoper, and Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, among others. He has also performed at the Royal Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, and LA Opera.

The stream begins at 8 p.m Argentina time.
