Erin Morley has been awarded the “Chevalière dans l’ordre des arts et lettres” at a ceremony in Paris.

The award was bestowed to the soprano by the French government in recognition of Erin’s outstanding contribution to the arts.

In a statement Morley said, “I am deeply moved this evening to have received the title of ‘Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters’ from the French Minister of Culture, presented by my friend Jean-Philippe Thiellay, President of the National Music Center, and surrounded by wonderful people, here in Paris. I have always loved the French language, the people, the culture, the food! and especially French music. Thank you a thousand times for allowing me to be part of this rich heritage. What a beautiful moment that I will always cherish!!”

This month, Morley is set to perform at the Teatro alla Scala and Cal Performances. She is also scheduled to make appearances with the Orchestre de Paris and Philadelphia Orchestra.
